I hate reading good books!!! Part 2

Back in May I did a post called: I hate reading good books!!!…
This post was SUPER popular.
Basically I stated that I hate reading good books because:
I’m always sad when they come to an end….
Bad books are better….I’m happy when they end!

Ends up I’m not the only one who feels that way!
This is where I hate reading good books Part 2 comes in…

Good books distract me from doing what I need to do around the house.
They cause dust to crust on my furniture, dirty dishes to be piled in my sink, laundry not being done…
Bad Books are better… My house is spotless!
I recently finished reading the Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking.

Switched (First Book)
Torn (Second Book)

Ascend (Third Book)

I quite enjoyed this trilogy.  I found it cute and different from all the other supernatural books I have been reading recently.  I randomly picked up this book without reading any reviews.  I picked it up because I loved the cover (haha it’s the truth) and the price was GREAT.  I picked them all up for under $5CAD each.  You can’t beat that!
I’m currently reading the Fifty Shades Trilogy by E.L. James.
Melissa from This Girls Life recommended it to me.  I must say the book is quite explicit.  I have never read a book like this before.  I’m often telling myself ”I can’t believe I’m reading this”, almost feeling guilty/awkward for reading it.  However, I enjoy it.  I’m currently on the last book.
I have a few questions for you:
Do you agree that reading good books is distracting?
Have you read the Trylle Trilogy?
Have you read the Fifty Shades Trilogy?
Do you have any series to recommend to me?
Have a FABULOUS day!!

I think reading good books is extremely distracting.. My husband thinks I’m nuts because I can just sit and read for hours on end! I love feeding my brain though and my son is loving ‘reading’ (looking at them) as well! I think it’s quite wonderful!

I have not read the Trylle Trilogy but am very interested since it’s supernatural and that is very intriguing! I’ll have to read some reviews on Goodreads and perhaps add them to my endless to-read list! :)

I am currently reading the Fifty Shades Trilogy and I feel the same way about it at times. It really makes you think about people differently and brings out your sexuality a bit.. I really am enjoying it though!

As for recommendations I have been told to read the Pretties series by Scott Westerfeld, the Divergent Series by Veronica Roth, or any books by Ellen Hopkins. Some of hers are squeals to others but they are very good for Young Adult novels.. She’s also starting to write more adult fiction novels (that are based off real life). Her first one was Triangles and her second is Collateral coming out soon! :)

P to the S.. I would love if you would join in on my Bloggy Book Club.. We are reading Fifty Shades of Grey starting June 19th and I would love if you would come discuss it with us! And then you can nominate books as well as win an Amazon gift card!

Okay I think this is a long enough comment, haha! Hope you have a wonderful Monday! xx

I totally agree with part two of this series! I get NOTHING done and get almost NO sleep when reading a good book.
As far as 50 Shades of Grey, I’ve heard a lot about it and will not read it. I feel like it is a type of pornography that women are somehow accepting while telling men that the visual pornography is not okay for them. I have other reasons, but that is a big one. I wrote a post about it on my blog. I’m more of a fantasy or science fiction person myself. I like stuff like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and the Circle Trilogy or Blink (by Ted Dekker).

I love to read good books and yes it is distracting but better than than sitting in front of the TV. I just finished the Hunger games and it was fantastic. On shades of grey I hear the writing is horrible what do you think?

Thanks for mentioning me hun. Good books are definitely distracting. My hubby is always asking me “are you almost done with that book so you can get back to reality” hahaha!

Reading 50 Shades was a little awkward at first because it just felt almost wrong but I wished more people would give it a chance because under the service the story is about the love between Ana and Christian not the “porn” that so many people want to call it. The writing isn’t great but it kept me turning the pages until I was done with all 3 books and that says something for it.

I haven’t read the Trylle Trilogy. I will have to check that one out. :)

I COMPLETELY understand! I’m always so sad at the end of a good book.

I read the 50 Shades trilogy. My first thought when I bought it was “holy cow, I can’t believe I’m buying a book with an erotic content label”. I was hooked from the beginning though. I think the 3rd book was my favourite :)

I so agree with this!! I’m always sad when a good book ends but I can’t stop myself from reading it! :)

Definitely have to add Trylle Trilogy and 50 Shades of Grey to my to-read list. I’ve been hearing about 50 Shades of Grey and I’ll probably read it and see what the fuss is about.

Currently, I’m trying to read The Girl Who Played with Fire but for some reason, I’m having trouble getting into it so it just sits.

As for series to recommend, I LOVE the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I’ve waited for each book at the library (waiting for one now!). If you like vampires (but not too all about vampires, if that makes sense), ever love the bad boys that are tough but go all soft for their women, and some hot love scenes thrown in there, you’ll love these series. They’re so addicting but thankfully, there’s like 10 books!

Books used to be a huge problem for me. Like for real….I would speed cook. Always be hiding with book in hand. LOL. Then I got my husband involved….BIG MISTAKE…He started cutting into my book fund. So in order to keep reading and not spending so much (although we get our books from the middle section @ Books A Million), I started reading his books….THE DREAMHUNTER series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I felt like I was sinning sometimes when I read these books. I would be reading and screaming with shock at the same time…He would be sitting there laughing at me. DreamHunter is like Twilight, but for adults and WAAAAAAAAY more interesting.
