Triplet Tote – Sewing 101 – My first real sewing project!

Triplet Tote - Sewing for beginners! Sewing 101 #sewing #sewingforbeginners #sewing101

I completed my very first real sewing project! YAY!! I’m so excited! Back in December 2012 my mother-in-law bought me the most AWESOME gift ever: my very first sewing machine! Even though this awesome sewing machine had Confidence in its name, it still didn’t give me confidence to sew! I’ve realized that my problem doesn’t really apply to the sewing part, but mostly about cutting the fabric. I’m worried that I will cut the fabric wrong and then have to scrap it. Fabric is soooo pretty and it would just break my heart to have to scrap it. ANYWAYS, I’m … {continue reading}

Hand-Drawn Stuffed Monster

Hand-Drawn Stuffed Monster

Hand-Drawn Stuffed Monster ~ The very first project my daughters wanted to try when we received the Martha Stewart’s Favorite Crafts for Kids book, was the Hand-Drawn Stuffed Animals project. Gabrielle took out a piece of paper right away and started drawing her creation. She decided to make a monster instead of an animal. We started off with Gabrielle drawing the monster she wanted. Once it was drawn we photocopied the drawing to be able to use it as a pattern. Once photocopied, Gabrielle cut out the body of the monster. We folded in two the fabric she had chosen and … {continue reading}

Sewing Machine Covers {Inspiration, Tutorials, Patterns, Shops}

Sewing Machine Cover

Sewing machine covers are a great way to protect your machine from dust when you are not using it. My sewing machine came with a plastic cover which I put on it as soon as I took it out of the box. However it’s ugly and it doesn’t seem to keep the dust away. I’ve been roaming the web looking for cute sewing machine cozies. Let me tell you, there’s so many gorgeous options out there. You can make your own or you can even buy one already made. Here is what I found: Sewing Machine Covers   Protective Cover … {continue reading}

Our Christmas always involves three jammed packed busy days of travelling from one place to another.  We started off with Christmas at my in-laws, then Christmas at home, Christmas at my Grand-parents, Christmas at my Aunt and Uncle’s and then Christmas at my parents. We got to relax at home yesterday which turned … {continue reading}

How to Fix a Loose Thread!!!

I bought Emanuelle a new outfit two weeks ago for her daycare photos.  The outfit is ADORABLE!!  The day before the photos I took the outfit out and layed it on her bed and noticed a loose thread!!  UGH!!!  That just irritates me, it’s a brand outfit, never been worn and there’s a thread that’s unravelling which will cause the hem to come apart.  Obviously, at this point I have no time to go back and exchange it and second of all.. I would look kind weird returning an outfit just because of a hem that’s letting go.  So I took out … {continue reading}
