I’ve been using a FranklinCovey Daily Planner for the last year and love it. The size 5.5”x8.5” is perfect (for me)… I just adore it. HOWEVER when it was time to order refills… not so in love anymore. The pricing for refills is ridiculous; it’s basically the price of a new planner ($25-$30) plus the refills are kinda blah looking.
I did try a MomAgenda, however I found it too big, lots of unnecessary pages, only U.S. holidays, a whole section on U.S. stores, not a binder, and it’s pricey. hehe I just don’t like it.
I have made the bold decision to make my own planner!
Daily Planner
I went to Bureau en Gros (Staples) and purchased the following:
Avery 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Durable View Binder, 1″, Black

Avery Pre-Printed Dividers Months

Avery Pre-Printed Dividers A–Z

Avery Durable Write-On Dividers

I also went to a craft store and purchased this scrapbook paper:

I will be using this paper to cover the front of the binder.
Everything I bought (so far) came up to $22.76 (before taxes). I still need to buy a few little things to decorate the front of the binder.
I realize that I could have skipped buying the dividers and made my own, however I want it to be functional as soon as possible… I do plan on making my own at one point.. just not right away…
My next step is to design my own inserts for the planner. I need to create the monthly calendars, weekly calendar and also the address book. I may even be lucky and come across some cute free templates…
If you have any ideas or suggestions.. please feel free to share. :)
To be continued…. Daily Planner Part 2
Have a FABULOUS day!

Yours will be so much more fun to use than the bought one, and next year this one can be recycled and used again. Bonus! :-) Did you check out diyplanner.com for templates and pages to print (http://diyplanner.com/templates/index)? They rock!
I love the idea of recycling it.. plus I won’t need to redo the address section every year :) BONUS!
