Painted Merry Christmas Sign with Hanging Ornaments
Hand Painted Wooden Merry Christmas Sign with Hanging Ornaments.
Disclosure: I was provided product by BEHR to write this post but the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

As I explained on Monday, I’ve been working on a fun outdoor Christmas sign to hang outside my front porch. I just couldn’t seem to find an already-made sign that I loved, so I figured why don’t I just make one! Plus it just so happened that my friends at BEHR asked if I could create an outdoor Holiday project. We both win with this project!
This Merry Christmas sign just screams FUN! Of course the Merry Christmas plaque on its own was cute, but it needed more to make it just right. The ornaments and their fun bright colors bring the perfect touch to the sign! Don’t you agree?

Instructions:
Step 1: This would be where the creation of the Merry Christmas Plaque comes in. If you haven’t check it out yet, it’s time to do so now.

Step 2: I used the same cookie cutters as I did for the Baking Soda Christmas Ornaments as my templates for these ornaments. I also used the shapes I created for the Felt Christmas Ornaments.
Once I had chosen which ornament shapes I wanted, I traced them onto wood. Then my Mom and I proceeded to cut them out using her scroll-saw.
This reminds me, I need to get myself a scroll-saw!

Step 3: I painted each ornament in a different color using the main colors: Galapagos (T16-04), Pagoda (T16-02), Coralette (T16-07), Perpetual Purple (MQ5-42), and Pistachio (MQ4-42).

Step 4: Now the fun part: adding details and shading to the ornaments!
My Mom used various colors from the list above to bring the ornaments to life.
Once the ornaments had all the details and shading we wanted, she added snow effect by brushing on Pink Chalk (MQ3-03) with a toothbrush.

Step 5: Once all the ornaments were finished, it was time to attach them onto the Merry Christmas plaque.
First thing we did was to drill little holes in the top of each ornament.
Then we attached closed ring hooks on the bottom of the plaque.
We threaded wire in the ornaments and attached them to the closed ring hooks.
We swirled the extra wire around a pencil to curl the wire.

And that’s it! The Painted Merry Christmas Sign with Hanging Ornaments is complete! Maybe you’d like to see close-ups of each ornament before I show you the final photos?

Goodness, how I LOVE the sign so much!! I LOVE everything about it! Oh, right… I forgot to show you the final photos!
