Sewing Machine Covers {Inspiration, Tutorials, Patterns, Shops}
Sewing machine covers are a great way to protect your machine from dust when you are not using it. My sewing machine came with a plastic cover which I put on it as soon as I took it out of the box. However it’s ugly and it doesn’t seem to keep the dust away. I’ve been roaming the web looking for cute sewing machine cozies. Let me tell you, there’s so many gorgeous options out there. You can make your own or you can even buy one already made. Here is what I found:
Sewing Machine Covers
Protective Cover for a Sewing Machine from AnaZard Atelier.
Reversible Sewing Machine Cover Tutorial from Stay-at-home Artist.
Moda’s Half Moon Modern Sewing Room: Sewing Machine Cover from Sew4Home.
Sewing Machine Cover Tutorial from Pine Needles at Gardner Village.
Sewing Machine Protective Cover from Bloom and Blossom.
Gorgeous Sewing Machine Protective Cover from Linen Tree.
Sewing Machine Protective Cover from The Lawrence Family.
Sewing Machine Cover from Specs & Wings.
Sewing Machine Protective Cover from S.O.T.A.K Handmade.
Sewing Machine Cozy from Spool.
Sewing Machine Protective Cozy from Diary of a Crafty Lady.
Sewing Machine Cover from Life After Laundry.
Sewing Machine Protective Cover from Bearcub Creations.
Sewing Machine Cozy from Notes From The Patch.
Quilted Sewing Machine Cozy from Sew Delicious.
Do you own a Sewing Machine Cozy? Did you make it or did you purchase it? With all the sewing machine covers I found I can’t seem to decide which option/design to choose. Any suggestions? They are all just too darn cute.
If you are new to sewing like I am, you should check out the Sewing 101 post I put together a few weeks ago.
Have a beautiful and AMAZING day!

So all I keep thinking is…..”Wouldn’t some of those fabrics make the CUTEST little girls’ dresses?!” These really are adorable. I don’t think I could choose a favorite if I had to.
Thank you for this roundup! I started cleaning my machine this morning and couldn’t believe how much dust had collected. After cleaning I also couldn’t believe how much better it was working soooo I searched for sewing machine cover tutorials and your site popped up. :-) Thanks for all the inspiration I made one this afternoon based on diary of a crafty lady design and added a pocket for the accessories. My machine looks fabulous.
Hi! Thanks for sharing my sewing machine cover on your blog today! I also very much appreciate the link! I feel so honored to be among great company. :) Happy day!
I am so happy to see all of these, I’ve been saying I need to make a cover for my new machine, to keep the dust out. My old one is over 50 years old, it was my mother’s.
Thanks!!
So I tried my hand at this and this is my result http://effiegirl.blogspot.com/2013/09/sew-to-machine.html
It was a lot of fun. Thanks again!
Cute! Cute! Cute!
I am sooo inspired.
I am ready to sew.
Thanks for sharing.
My sewing machine hasn’t been getting nearly as much attention since I put my Etsy store on permanent vacation. When I used it the other day I noticed how dusty it has become. I definitely need to make a cover for it. Thank you so much for this great inspiration!
Best Wishes,
Crystal
Cute! I wouldn’t ever use one cause I am ALWAYS sewing, but they are lovely!
