Sewing Machine Covers {Inspiration, Tutorials, Patterns, Shops}

Sewing machine covers are a great way to protect your machine from dust when you are not using it. My sewing machine came with a plastic cover which I put on it as soon as I took it out of the box. However it’s ugly and it doesn’t seem to keep the dust away. I’ve been roaming the web looking for cute sewing machine cozies. Let me tell you, there’s so many gorgeous options out there. You can make your own or you can even buy one already made. Here is what I found:

Do you own a Sewing Machine Cozy? Did you make it or did you purchase it? With all the sewing machine covers I found I can’t seem to decide which option/design to choose.  Any suggestions? They are all just too darn cute.

If you are new to sewing like I am, you should check out the Sewing 101 post I put together a few weeks ago.

  7. Thank you for this roundup! I started cleaning my machine this morning and couldn’t believe how much dust had collected. After cleaning I also couldn’t believe how much better it was working soooo I searched for sewing machine cover tutorials and your site popped up. :-) Thanks for all the inspiration I made one this afternoon based on diary of a crafty lady design and added a pocket for the accessories. My machine looks fabulous.

  8. I am so happy to see all of these, I’ve been saying I need to make a cover for my new machine, to keep the dust out. My old one is over 50 years old, it was my mother’s.

    Thanks!!

  9. My sewing machine hasn’t been getting nearly as much attention since I put my Etsy store on permanent vacation. When I used it the other day I noticed how dusty it has become. I definitely need to make a cover for it. Thank you so much for this great inspiration!

    Best Wishes,

    Crystal
