Honeydew Melon Jello {Whimsical Whimsies}
Honeydew Melon Jello with Christy from Whimsical Whimsies ~ The warmer months are here! And so is the need for refreshing treats for the kiddos after and in the middle of all those long hard days of playing outside. My kids love jello…but they do not like honeydew melon. I had just such a melon hanging around and thought one great way to get them to eat it is to make it into jello. Popsicles were also on the list of possible alternative measures of getting them to eat it, but at the time jello seemed like the way to go.
I followed the instructions on the jello box and just substituted Honeydew Melon puree (which I made with my food processor) for the water. Easy peasy!
Honeydew Melon Jello
Here are the steps I took to make it:
1. Puree one honeydew melon.
2. Boil one cup of honeydew melon puree.
3. Add in the jello and stir until dissolved.

4. Add in one cup of cold honeydew melon puree and stir until mixed. Of course, if you run out of puree, add water instead. You can do half puree and half water or really any ratio you want.
Other fruit juices and even pureed veggies would be fantastic too! My sister in law used to add pureed red peppers to her jello to give her kids those wonderful added vitamins.
I am pleased to tell you that both flavors of jello were a hit with my three girls. They loved it. My melon did not go to waste and my happy, healthy girls loved their cool, tasty treat.

Looks fantastic! I love honey dew :)
I didn’t even know you could change out the water like that! It’s brilliant really. I am so going to try the red pepper idea for my kids. Maybe save the melon for myself.
