How Energy is part of my World Tour Dream Experience #E47B

Did you know that Shell Canada produces enough energy to meet the world’s oil demand for more than 4 minutes every single day? That doesn’t sound like a lot? Think of it this way: they produce enough energy for nearly seven billion people on the planet for four minutes every single day! That’s pretty amazing, right?

When we think of energy, we naturally think of how it heats homes and allows us to travel. But it also drives so many of our necessities (ex. food), products we use daily (ex. clothing, cosmetics, etc.) and vital services (ex. hospitals).

Canada plays an important role in energy. To develop resources that supports our quality of life and economic strength here and to support the needs of the world. A big job, right? Shell Canada believes in a future where Canada can lead in both energy and the environment, and where environmental technology will be a global source of competitive advantage. Which I think they are already heading in the right direction!

My Dream Experience

One of my biggest dreams is to do a world tour with my little family. I’d like to discover foreign places. I would capture all those precious moments on camera, that years from now, will allow me to relive the adventure through my photography. I would live on the road, explore different cities, countries, and cultures. I would blog about my experience about traveling as a family. I can’t imagine how I could make this dream a reality without energy.

Energy takes care of transportation:
So when I think of how energy could help me realize my biggest dream, I think firstly about transportation to get from one point to the other. I want to experience the whole world. If I don’t have energy to power those up, I’ll need to scratch out transportation by car, train, boat, plane and even hot air balloon from the equation. Without those, I don’t think I will have enough days in the rest of my life to do a world tour.

Energy helps reach people:
I would want to share my experiences and my pictures with you. I could keep a journal of my journey, but to be able to share it, I would need a medium that is easy to access. Without energy, I couldn’t use my phone, my computer, my camera, and the Internet. Just the process to keep in touch with my readers would be exhausting.

Energy saves time:
Just to take care of our basic needs, we’d have to consecrate a lot of time and effort. It would take a good part of our day just to prepare our food. I’ll have to take care of this survival stuff first. Traveling, writing and sharing will certainly have to take a back seat in my life.

As you can see, my biggest dream would be impossible to accomplish without energy. Energy touches most everything.

What would be your dream experience?

Don’t forget to dream big!
