DIY Decoupage Vintage Vase
Decoupage Vintage Vase ~ At the beginning of the week I showed you the BRAND NEW Martha Stewart Crafts Decoupage Crafting Line and now it’s time to show you what I made. I had a very plain looking vase laying around and decided to give it a nice vintage feel. It was quite simple to do since I had all the necessary products on hand.

Decoupage Vintage Vase
Supplies
– Vase
– Decoupage Paper Cutouts – Botanical Floral by Martha Stewart Crafts
– Multi-Surface Durable Gloss Finish by Martha Stewart Crafts
– Multi-Surface Durable Matte Finish by Martha Stewart Crafts
– Decoupage Brush by Martha Stewart Crafts
– Craft Squeegee by Martha Stewart Crafts
Instructions
Step 1: Select the paper cutout that you would like to apply unto the vase. Step 2: Apply a coat of Multi-Surface Durable Gloss Finish onto the surface of the vase. (I used Gloss because the vase had a shiny finish and I didn’t want to make the surface look dull with the matte finish). Step 3: Apply a coat of the Multi-Surface Durable Gloss Finish onto the back of the paper cutout. Step 4: Place the paper cutout onto the vase and use your fingers or a craft squeegee to remove any air pockets between the paper cutout and the vase. Allow it to dry for 1-2 hours. Step 5: Apply a coat of Multi-Surface Durable Matte Finish over of the paper cutout, leaving a 1/4 inch border to seal the edges of the paper. (I used Matte because the paper cutout was matte and I liked the look of the matte over the gloss.). Allow it to dry for 1-2 hours. Step 6: Repeat Step 5.
And voilà, you have yourself a Decoupage Vintage Vase!
Isn’t it FABULOUS? I seriously LOVE IT! I’m hoping to find a few more vases in the similar beige tone so that I can decoupage them with the other designs found in the Botanical Floral decoupage set.
Hope you are having a BEAUTIFUL day!
P.S. I’ll be linking to these Parties.
Disclosure: Martha Stewart Crafts sent me supplies in order to create this project. The opinions in this post are 100% my own.

super cute vase–what an easy way to dress up a simple vase!
So pretty..and classic.
Looks beautiful Christine. You’d never know it was added on. Thanks for sharing! Stop by my Friday’s Five Features tomorrow and link up this post (and others)! http://diy-vintage-chic.blogspot.com
Very nice, looks so pretty with the decoupaged flower on it. Since it was a plain vase the flower really gives the vase personality and much prettier looking.
I have several of the older, last forever tablecloths from 40’s 50’s so I use ones that have bad stains or tears for parts. The flowers or designs on tablecloths look really pretty decoupaged onto an object. I get much more use out of the cloths that way. I buy ones the dealer can’t sell due to the stains or tears in them, get great deals then.
Just another idea to use for livening up vases, bottles, trays, etc.
This turned out great! This just made me so hungry. They look so yummy! If you like to link up come over to Craft Frenzy Friday at http://www.craftdictator.com! It goes live Thursdays at 7:00 PM Central! I hope to see you there!
