Gold Pencils + 15 Gold Projects
A few weeks back I shared a fun family craft: Decorative Pencils. I had so much fun creating them with my family, that I decided to make some more, but in the gold color scheme. These pencils are great for St. Patrick’s Day, New Years and even for themed parties!

Gold Pencils
Supplies:
– Wood Pencils
– Natural (You can use regular pencils if you sand the varnish off them.)
– Gold Acrylic Paint
– White Acrylic Paint
– Gold Glitter Paint
– Patterning Tape
– Paint Brush
– Old Pencil or chopstick
– Gold Decorative Trim, ribbon or thread
– Hot Glue Gun

Instructions:
Step 1: Apply two coats of paint on your pencils. (I painted half of them in gold and the others in white.)
Step 2: To have glitter pencils: I apply a coat of Gold Glitter Paint on the pencils. (If you don’t have glitter paint, you can easily sprinkle gold glitter onto the pencils while the paint is still wet.)
Step 3: To have stripped pencils: Apply thin patterning tape on the pencils. Apply two coats of the opposite color of paint on the pencils. Slowly remove the tape from the pencils.
Step 4: To have polka dot pencils: Dip the tip of an old pencil or chopstick into the opposite color of paint and apply it onto the pencils.
Step 5: To add a little fun to the pencils, use hot glue to apply decorative trim (ribbon or thread) around the end of the pencils.
Voilà, you know have fun Golden Pencils!

What do you think of the pencils? Aren’t they fun? As soon as I was done taking photos Gabrielle and Emanuelle claimed them as their own! I guess I have to make some more if I want some for myself!
