Looking to add more DIY ornaments to your Christmas tree? These embroidery hoop faux concrete Christmas tree ornaments are the perfect addition to any Christmas tree!
Back in October while shopping at a local hardware store, I came across the cutest box of mini wooden Christmas trees.
The box had over 20 trees in it for less than $5, I had to buy them. I loved that the trees looked like they were made of concrete.
I knew I wanted to make Christmas decorations with the wooden trees, but I wasn’t sure what exactly.
Luckily, when I showed them to my daughter Gabrielle, she knew EXACTLY what I should make with them. She grabbed our little embroidery hoops and placed the trees on the rim of the hoops. It looked AWESOME!

Embroidery Hoop Faux Concrete Christmas Tree Ornaments
Supplies:
- Mini wood trees (or any little wood embellishment you want to use)
- Embroidery Hoops
- Hot Glue
- Jute twine
- Scissors
Optional if you want to give the wood embellishment faux concrete look:
- Grey acrylic paint
- White acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Sand paper
There are many ways to create a faux concrete look, however if I was doing it I would do the following:
Apply grey acrylic paint onto the wood embellishment.
While the paint is still wet apply white acrylic paint in certain areas.
Only apply enough white to create the cement look you like.
Once dry lightly sand to give it a rough look.
P.S. You could also paint the wood embellishment with chalk board paint and then just rub white chalk over it!
Instructions:
Step 1: Using a hot glue gun attach the wood Christmas trees onto the interior rim of the embroidery hoops.
Step 2: Cut a piece of twine and attach it to the top part of the embroidery hoop.
And voilà,
Easy DIY Embroidery Hoop Faux Concrete Christmas Tree Ornaments
Easy to make, right?!
The only thing that may take a little longer is having to paint the wood trees to give them a faux concrete look, and even that doesn’t take that long.
Or maybe you’ll be lucky like me and just find some that are already done!
