Staying Healthy The ONatural Way – #ONatural

School started about a month ago, and I’m happy to say that I didn’t keep Emanuelle home once. Just in case you forgot: when Ema was attending daycare I would keep her home as soon as I heard there were cases of “sickness” at daycare. You can read up on it here: A new routine is starting soon. Aren’t you proud of me? I sure am! Avoiding places were she could potentially get sick was not the way to go. I was mostly doing it because when she would get sick, she’d get very sick. Colds always go directly to her lungs. Which means a nasty cough, so much so that we would need to use pumps to get her better.

First Day of School - Kindergarten

Since, I’m determined to make sure both Gabrielle and Emanuelle stay healthy (and I can’t keep them home forever), I make sure they eat healthy throughout the day. That includes packing them a healthy lunch. My daughters’ school has even asked parents to make to sure to pack a healthy snack. The snack is to be identified so that the kids don’t grab a muffin that may be in their lunch box, but rather a healthy snack. I think the idea is great, however in our case, no matter which item my children grab from their lunch as a snack, it’s healthy.  And because of that, when are are done making their lunch in the morning, I ask them which item they want as a snack and I identify it as the snack. Their favorite healthy snack is currently slices of yellow watermelon.

When they get back from school I make each of them a ND Shake for Kids. ND Shakes are nutrient-dense shakes formulated to meet unique daily requirements of each member of your family. I’ve made the shakes with milk however, we all prefer them with room temperature water. Of course, the girls LOVE the chocolate one. I like both the vanilla and the chocolate. I usually take my ND Shake for Women around 3:30pm, it’s my afternoon pick me up! I look forward to it every day! I’ve noticed that I have more energy since I started drinking it. Sébastien has noticed the same thing as well. He takes his ND Shake for Men with his breakfast in the morning.

I’m really happy with the healthy direction we are going. We are eating as healthy as possible, exercising as a family, and making sure we all get our daily nutrients. I think we are heading in the right direction to healthy living, wouldn’t you agree?

I like to think I’m a progressive issues-alert gran’mom but I’ve actually picked up a number of information from you that are extremely helpful. Today’s info on your ND shakes is interesting and may be coming to usage in the short future when my son’s family joins our household (building a whole separate but adjoined house to ours). Am already getting ideas ready to keep the grandkids healthy and happy. Thanks again.

  2. Hi Christine. It’s a germy world out there and it’s tough when you catch colds easily. I was a preschool teacher for 12 years and I was always sick no matter how much I washed my hands or cleaned my room. Throat and chest infections. When I was diagnosed with celiac and stopped gluten, I stayed well much longer. And the glands in my neck, just under my ears became Un-swollen. I never knew how swollen they were until it went away! Then, when I stopped teaching, I got sick even less. However, recently I discovered something amazing. I have reflux at night. Sometimes I know it. Sometimes I don’t. It happens I’m asleep. Anyway, the thing I discovered recently is, if I start to feel any bit of a sore throat or chest cold, I take TUMS right away and then again at bedtime, along with Claritin and I don’t get sick!!!!!!!! I used to be at the doctor every three months with something. I haven’t been in years! I share this with anyone now who is suffering with allergies and repeated infections. Just something to think about. Hugs<3
