Brunswick Mattress – More comfort, more support, and more restful nights

Old school spring mattress
When I was a kid I had a spring mattress, like most people did back then. I loved my mattress, I loved the firmness of it, I loved that I could jump on it and that it would spring me up in the air.
I loved it up until it started making holes in my favorite bed sheets. Then it started making holes in my favorite pajamas. Of course at first I didn’t realize it was the mattress’ fault. I just thought the holes were appearing on their own. I didn’t make an issue about it, I didn’t even tell my parents about the holes.
Eventually my mom noticed the holes and the first thing she did was check my mattress. Why didn’t I think of that? Ends up a spring had pierced through and was poking out of the mattress. It was the reason I had holes appearing in my bed sheets and pajamas. Oups!
Old school mattress shopping
Time to go shopping for a mattress. In our area, a few times a year, there would be a mattress truck that would park in the church parking lot where you could buy mattresses. They would do a mailing letting the population know when they would be in the area.
The day came when the mattress truck was in our area and we went to buy a mattress. I was thrilled when I saw they had foam mattresses, I didn’t know they existed! Note, that they weren’t fancy foam mattresses like we have now a days like the wonderful Recore mattress, this was really just foam. hehe Regardless, I was excited to have a non spring mattress, it would not make holes in my favorite bed sheets and pjs.
I really did like my new foam mattress, but I found that it wasn’t as firm as my old spring mattress. It’s unreal how foam mattresses have evolved since then though, I couldn’t ask for a better foam mattress then my Douglas mattress. However because of my adventures with my old spring mattress, I stayed away from spring mattresses ever since.
Brunswick Mattress – Classic Spring Comfort
My friends at Novosbed designed a new mattress around the concept of Classic Spring Comfort called Brunswick.

Euro-top cover featuring Hemp
The quilted Euro-top cover is ultra-soft, breathable, and infused with hemp fibers.
Facts about hemp: Hemp has 3x the tensile strength of cotton, which makes it more durable and resilient. Hemp is fast-growing and doesn’t require any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. It doesn’t need much water, it’s gentle on the soil, and absorbs large volumes of carbon dioxide. Hemp fibre has natural antimicrobial properties and is hypoallergenic.
Zoned pocketed steel springs
One of the key factors for Brunswick’s Classic Comfort feel comes from its 8-inch layer of steel innersprings. They give the mattress its bouncy feel and greater overall level of support (even for larger and overweight individuals up to 250 lbs per person).
Each coil spring sits inside its own breathable tube (or pocket) and because of this, only the springs with weight on them compress. This means less motion transfer from one side of bed to the other and increases the longevity of the springs.
Our body weighs differently in certain areas: the hip area is heavier than our head, legs, or shoulders. If all the springs were the same, it would cause a dent in the middle of the mattress and would cause issues with your spine, muscles, and joints. To remedy this, Brunswick uses thicker, multi-tempered, steel coils in the central third of the mattress, where the hips lay. The other two-thirds of the mattress (1 third of the top and 1 third of the bottom) have identical springs which allows you to rotate the mattress and increase its longevity.
Tip: Rotate the Brunswick mattress by 180 degrees every 4 months.
Cooling gel memory foam
Between the cover and the spring lays Brunswick’s Euro-top’s three layers of foam (total of 2.75”). Using different foam types and densities are how to customize the contouring feel of the mattress. It balances the sinkage, support, and cushioning.
The top 2 layers of foam are gel-infused. There are billions of tiny shock-absorbing air bubbles cushions inside the foam. The gel beads act as an efficient passageway along the walls of the air bubbles for air and heat to circulate through, allowing the mattress to say cooler longer.
As you can tell, just like foam mattresses, spring mattresses have evolved so much!

Brunswick Mattress Review
We were so excited to surprise our youngest with a Brunswick mattress. Like her older sister, she had been asking for a new mattress since we got ours.
You should have seen her face when she walked in her bedroom after school and found a new mattress on her bed. She screamed and laid on it right away.
That same night she asked to go to bed early to sleep on it. I must say it was great not having her come visit us in our bed. Ever since we got our new mattress we would get visits from her every so often saying her bed hurts her back. Or we would find her in our bed when it was time for us to go to bed.
She has been sleeping so well ever since she has a Brunswick mattress. No more complaining of aches and pains, and she looks forward to going to bed… which is a big plus in my book.
Brunswick is definitely a premium spring mattress. As soon as we laid on it, it reminded us of a super comfortable high-end hotel mattress. The right mix of comfy and firmness. I find myself having naps in her bed (yes me, the person who said they would stay away from spring mattresses). It’s such a wonderful mattress that gives a luxury hotel feel.
