Capture the Moment – Ema’s 6th Birthday #CanonL

My sweet little baby Emanuelle is now 6. I can’t believe how fast she’s growing. She’s sweet, caring, smart, determined, and so funny! The day of her 6th birthday I took out my camera and started snapping photos of her with my Canon EF 135mm f/2.0L USM lens. I think birthday photography is a great way to capture how our children have changed year after year, don’t you agree?

Who doesn’t love bloopers?!

When I was asking Emanuelle to show me how old she was, she kept doing it math style. She would show me 5 fingers and then show me 1. Like I mentioned above, she’s one funny little lady. Being funny is probably another one of her favorite things to do!

To capture her silliness, I made a little collage and put the two photos one next to the other. 5 + 1 = 6

Emanuelle’s new smile!

Not too long after Emanuelle’s 6th birthday, one of her top front teeth starting wiggling. Not just any front tooth, but the one she accidentally knock back into her gums a few years back. Yeah, ouch!

She was playing with Gabrielle and slipped and knocked her front tooth on the corner of the coffee table. We actually thought she knocked it out and swallowed it. We freaked out and brought her to the dentist right away. Ends up she hit the tooth head on and it made it go all the way back into her gums! The dentist assured us that the tooth would eventually come out of her gums and back into place, but that it may change colors (it may turn black). He was right, the tooth came back out but luckily didn’t change colors until it got loose because of her adult tooth coming out.

ANYWAYS! Because that particular tooth had a special story behind it, I wanted to make sure to capture photos of it being removed.

Emanuelle actually removed the tooth all by herself!

What do you think of the photos? I’m so HAPPY that I captured these special shots of Emanuelle. I’m talented right? haha Really though, the combination of my Canon EOS Rebel SL1 camera and my Canon EF 135mm f/2.0L USM lens is what’s making my photos fabulous.

The camera’s touch-screen feature to focus on exactly what you want in focus paired with a powerful lens to capture the shot makes for AMAZING PHOTOS!

P.S. I took all the photos in Portrait mode. I’m not in Manual Mode yet, why? Well because Automatic and Portrait mode are giving me photos that I love! HOWEVER, I know that Manual mode will result in even better shots, but you have to admit, even in Portrait mode, my photos are great… right?!

Which photos are your favorites? I must say that I LOVE Ema’s portrait and the photo of Ema who just finished blowing out her candle (you can see the smoke from the candle).

Have a FABULOUS day!
