Holly Jolly Centerpiece – Holiday Decor #12MonthsofMartha
Learn how to make a Holly Jolly Centerpiece using a piece of glass and glass paint.

My parents have beautiful circle shaped glass that they were uncertain what to do with. They have been saving them because they knew that they could be used for something.
When I showed my mother the Martha Stewart Holiday Icons stencil I had, she asked if we could use one of the shapes to decorate one of her glass pieces. Of course I said yes.

Holly Jolly Centerpiece
Supplies:
- Glass (whatever shape you choose)
- Wood base to hold the glass upwards
- Holly stencil from Martha Stewart Crafts Holiday Icon Stencils.
- Glass patterning tape
- Daubers
- Fine Glitter Glass Paint – Garnet
- Glass Paint – Sweetgrass
- Glitter – Garnet
- Glitter – Peridot
- Wood Stain – Espresso
- Soft cloth

Instructions:
Step 1: Position the stencil onto your clean glass surface.
Once positioned where you would like it, use glass patterning tape to secure the stencil onto the surface.

Step 2: Use a dauber to dab the Sweetgrass glass paint inside the holly leaves.

Step 3: While the paint is still wet, sprinkle the Peridot glitter onto the leaves.

Step 4: Once the leaves are dry, you can start working on the holly berries.
Use the dauber to dab the Garnet glass paint onto the berries.

Step 5: While the berries are still wet, sprinkle Garnet glitter.

Step 6: Once you are finished with the paint and glitter, you can remove the stencil from the surface.

Step 7: Now it’s time to work on the wood base.
Hopefully you can make yourself a base or have someone who can. You just need a piece of wood with a slot big enough for the glass to fit and stand in.
You can also check out the DIY Photo Stands I made, it will give you a good idea on how to make the stand.
With a soft cloth apply wood stain onto the base. We applied one thin coat.

Step 8: Once the base is dry, place your painted glass piece inside, decorate it and then you are finished! :)

So, what do you think? Isn’t it pretty? I LOVE how it turned out!
Maybe I should ask my parents for one of their glass pieces so that I can make one for myself too?
Hope you are having a BEAUTIFUL day!
Christine
