Printing Photos with Kids – Canon Selphy CP900 – #CanonCanada

Do you get nervous when your children ask for family photos for a project? Come on, I can’t be the only one? I instantly get nervous, they are precious photos and what if they cut them out and I forget to replace the photos… I may never see them again. I don’t print photos very often and when I do I put them in a very special place so that I can treasure them forever (they are my treasures).

My daughters (8 and 4) received scrapbooks for Christmas and they were just so excited to work on them. They asked me for photos to scrapbook. I got nervous like I always do… . that’s until I pulled out the Selphy CP900 compact printer from Canon Canada!

The girls got all excited when they saw the little printer. Asking if it was a mini printer just for them. Of course I explained that it’s a compact printer made especially to print photos.

We sat in front of the computer together and I showed them all the photos that Sébastien and I took since October. We’ve taken over 1800 photos since we got the Rebel SL1!! Eek!! What can I say, we love the camera so much… we have it with us all the time!!

As we went through the photos, they told me the photos they wanted to print. I would then place the photos onto a USB stick. Of course we could have printed them directly from the computer but I wanted them to do it themselves.

Once all the photos they wanted were on the USB stick we placed it in the Selphy’s USB port. The printer displayed the first photo on its screen and we pressed print.

You should have seen the girls’ faces when the photo came out yellow, then back into the printer for a second and third pass until it came out perfect! It was like magic!

When the photo was finished printing, I showed them that they could press the right arrow to go to the next photo and to press print.

It was so much fun watching their faces light up each time a photo came out of the printer. They each took a turn to press next, print and to remove the photo from the printer. True teamwork!

Hope you are having a great day!!

Disclosure: Canon Canada supplied me with a Selphy CP900 for my personal use. I chose to write this post because I really enjoy the printer. As always, all opinions are my own.

  1. That looks like so much fun! I admit I’m lazy when it comes to printing photos and going to the actual photo lab to get them done. Everything is still in digital form on my computer or burned to disks. This would be great to print selected photos in the convenience of your own home. The device itself looks really nice. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Oh, man! I NEED to get this!! With all the pics I take for scrapbooking, this would come in handy. Now, all I need is some TIME to actually get back into scrapbooking! LOL! Ahhh…as odd as it sounds, it seems I had MORE time when Little One was an infant! Weird! lol

  3. I so know that feeling when the kids ask me for photos…I panic because I actually don’t even print out photos anymore!! I end up printing them out on our home printer and they look terrible, lol! This printer looks like the perfect solution! Enjoy!
