HP The Original You + HP Photosmart 7520 Printer #OriginalYou
A few weeks back, my daughters and I were lucky enough to attend HP Canada’s The Original You event. It was nice going to an event where my daughters were also invited. While I learned about the technology behind HP inks and got wonderful photography tips from Michael Cooper, my daughters got to do Arts and Crafts. Let’s just say that we all had a wonderful day!

Photo Wall Art
A week prior to the event, HP asked me to submit one of my favorite photos. I decided to send them a photo that I took this summer of a Japanese beetle on a rose. When we arrived at the event, everyone’s photos were printed and displayed on a Photo Wall. It was just so pretty!

P.S. HP also has an app called HP Live Photo, I showed up a little late to the event, so I didn’t get to see the presentation… however this video shows how it works and it looks like so much fun: HP Live Photo
HP Original Supplies
I had no idea how much work was involved in creating ink and the science behind it! Thom Brown, HP’s inkologist, explained that ink is not just colored water, but created with ingredients! Each ink cartridge is made specifically for your HP printer to deliver quality and reliability. That’s why it’s important to use real HP ink as opposed to refilling your ink cartridges.

Here are some facts about HP ink vs refills.
-
- HP Inks last about 50 times longer.
- Remanufactured ink cartridges can fail 70% of the time.
- You can print up to twice as many pages with original HP ink.
- Color doesn’t fade on photos that were printed with HP ink.
Photography Tips with Michael Cooper
HP invited photographer Michael Cooper to join us during the Original You event. He shared great photography tips with us! Some of my favorite tips were to think about framing the subject in the photo, take photos of your subject from different angles, get down when taking photos of children and one of my favorites.. have your photos tell a story. He also shared some technical tips like to set your camera at the highest resolution and if you need to zoom into your subject.. use optical zoom and not digital zoom. He jammed packed so much useful information in the time he was with us, I loved it!

Here’s a photo he took of my daughters and I:

HP Photosmart 7520
Last week I received this bundle:

Yes a bunch of HP goodies! I received an HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-In-One printer, HP multipurpose paper, HP Premium Plus Photo Paper and HP Ink catridges.
I hurried to install the printer and I LOVE IT!! I haven’t printed photos in years… actually I haven’t printed photos in 4 years to be exact. Sad right? For some reason, I snap away and yet I never bother to print the photos. I barely have any photos of Emanuelle printed.
As soon as I setup the printer (which took no time at all), I started printing photos! Eeek!! LOVE the quality of the print and how fast the photos shoot out of the printer. I forgot how fun it is to actually hold photos in your hands. I want to hang the photos everywhere. hehe
Wireless Printing via Wi-Fi and on the go!
Not only does the printer print photos and obviously documents, it also scans, copy and can be used as a fax machine! But my favorite feature of all, is the WIRELESS feature! Yes that’s right! You can print whatever you want from anywhere in your house (as long as your device is Wi-Fi compatible). I borrowed my parents laptop to test out this function and it works like MAGIC! Seriously awesome! PLUS you can even set up the printer to print documents when you aren’t home! How can that be? Oh, because you can setup your printer to have it’s very own email address!! Crazy cool! Find something you want printed, just email it to your printer and it will print it for you!
Hope you found all this information useful, I know I did!!
Have a great day!!

Disclosure: I attended “The Original You” event sponsored by HP Canada. HP products mentioned in this post were supplied by HP Canada.

This looks like an awesome printer! Love that it is wi-fi so multiple users can print to it.
I would love to have that experience. Photography is a real art and I need some help with that. Lovely picture of you and your girls :)
Your girls are adorable! I just printed our first picture on my HP Photosmart printer and I can’t believe how great they look, I know I will be printing some photo projects for Halloween and Christmas this year!
I haven’t printed any photos for my wedding, my son anything. I’m so bad with it.
I need a new printer, so love this review and all the info! Looks like it works wonderfully!
How fun to have been able to bring your daughters with you to the event. That is amazing. Many fun memories were created that day for sure.
